Damodar Rout died due to a cardiac arrest at 5:23 am on 22 March 2024. He was first brought to the Capital Hospital on 18 March due to cardiac arrest. Later he was shifted to another private hospital. His son Sambit thought that his health was improving, but he died on Friday, 22 March 2024.
Rout’s son Sambit Routray claimed that the Capital Hospital showed negligence and did not provide CPR to his father despite requests. On the other hand, the hospital claimed that there was no need for CPR at the time when the Former Odisha minister Damodar Rout was first brought to the hospital.
