- Nafe also held the Chairmanship of Bahadurgarh Municipal Council. Along with that, he was also the president of the All India Indian Style Wrestling Association. Nafe was the one who represented India in 2024’s Ethnosports in Turkey.
- In 2014, Nafe was denied the MLA ticket in INLD party. This caused him to change parties and join the BJP at that time. But even the BJP did not give a ticket to him. In the end, he fought that election independently.
- In 2018, he again joined the INLD party.
- Nafe Singh Rathee succeeded Birbal Das Dhalia and became the state president of the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) on 3 January 2020. He stayed in that position until his death on 25 February 2024.
Controversies
In 2023, Former BJP minister Mange Ram Rathee lost his son Jagdish Rathee in a suicide case. Nafe Singh Rathee was declared as the main accused in that case. Jagdish’s family made serious claims of Nafe Singh Rathee harassing Jagdish in a property-related issue that resulted in Jagdish committing suicide.
Nafe Singh Rathee Death: Shot Dead in Jhajjar
State president of INLD Nafe Singh Rathee was shot and killed in Bahadurgarh, Haryana. Rathi was travelling in an SUV at the time of this attack, whereas assailants fired from their Hyundai i10. This attack took place at 5 pm on 25 February 2024. Nafe Singh Rathee was immediately taken to the nearest private hospital, but in the end, his severe injuries took his life.
Rathee was not alone at the time of this attack, as three private gunmen were travelling with him. These armed men were hired for his security. All three of these security personnel were injured in this attack. Among them was a Jhajjar’s Mandothi Village person named Jai Kishan who died in the hospital after this attack. The other two security personnel are still undergoing treatment.
There are speculations of Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang involvement in this shooting. However, the attackers who shot Nafe Singh Rathee have not been identified yet. The Police are also conducting a thorough investigation into Nafe Singh’s death right now. This is even more worrisome news as this attack happened only a few weeks before the Lok Sabha Elections.
- Haryana’s CM Manohar Lal Khattar also shared his condolences in an X (formerly Twitter) post. He stated that he is standing strong with Nafe Singh Rathee’s family in this tough. Manohar Lal also assured the public of swift justice and catching of the culprits behind this attack.
- Haryana’s other opposition leaders like Bhupinder Singh Hooda also expressed deep sadness and grief after hearing the news of this sad incident.
- Delhi’s Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal took this opportunity to attack Haryana’s BJP government. He said that BJP has destroyed the Law and Order situation in Haryana. He further stated that the Haryana police are focused on stopping farmers instead of catching criminals.

Nafe’s son Jitender shared his pain with the media. He said that this was a loss for Bahadurgarh City. He talked about his father’s contribution to the city economy. Jitender also revealed that in the past, there were inputs from the authorities about a potential attack on his father Nafe.
