Tata IPL 2024 Schedule
Till now, the schedule for only the first 2 weeks has been announced. These first 2 weeks will run from 22 March 2024 until 7 April 2024. Further schedule will be announced in later days of these two weeks. During these 2 weeks, a total of 21 matches will be played in the Tata Indian Premier League (IPL). These matches will be played across 10 cities in India. Each of the teams will play a minimum of 3 matches and a maximum of five matches.
Tata IPL 2024 Time Table: Venue, Teams & Match List
- Tata IPL 2024 First Match: The first match of the IPL season 17 will start with the 5-time winners and defending champions Chennai Super King (CSK) going against Royal Challengers Bangalore. This match will be held in Chennai on Friday.
- 2 double headers will be featured in the first weekend. It will begin on Saturday afternoon when Punjab Kings will be hosting the Delhi Capitals. Following that event, Kolkata Knight Riders will host the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the evening of the same day.
- 24 March: The next matches will be held in Jaipur city on 24 March 2024. Here, the Rajasthan Royals team will go against Lucknow Super Giants on Sunday afternoon. Then further on this Sunday evening home team Gujarat Titans (finalists of the last season and 2022 champions) will go against Mumbai Indians (five times IPL winners).
- The first home matches of Delhi Capitals will be played in Visakhapatnam. Chennai Super Kings will be hosted by Delhi Capitals on Sunday, 31 March. The Delhi Capital will then face another team Kolkata Knight Rider in this port city. This match will also take place at the same venue on Wednesday, 3 April.

To make sure that these events go smoothly, BCCI will work with the Indian government and state authorities to maintain the law & order situation. This schedule can also have further changes in the future due to the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
18th Lok Sabha elections are about to be held in 2024. As soon as election dates are announced, BCCI will also review their schedule dates again to make sure that cricket games don’t interfere with the election and voter turnout on the polling dates.
